Two God Complain Poems

God Complain: Poems

Immortal Soul

I gave an immortal soul to the flea,
And nobody thought, this was great,
Rather they said, “Why didn’t he also
Give one to the Elephant!” And that is
When I knew, I could not please man,
Or even the monkey, nor the valet…!

Immortal Woman

A child dies in it mother’s womb
Just at that moment, I gave it a soul,
It really has no identity at this stage
(he will form his later, with me),
And the mother thinks, all it could
Have been…but without the soul he
Would have not become…,
She flatters herself that she created
Him, that she alone is gifted,
Perhaps from her inordinate vanity

Candlesticks in a Den

Candlesticks in a Den

The Lord said, “I will kill her children with death, and her also…” and someone said, “But he is God, he does not do such things!”
And someone said, an angel I believe: “…she is the one who will not repent of her sins, and she is the one who infects…and he is the one that searches the heart, of the many, yet she does not repent.”
I do believe, I am but a candlestick, one God can quickly blow out, remove from his den, from the place one once stood, to Satan’s prisons, removed so the light is at best dim, removed from the tree that bears the fruit of God in his paradise, we are but candlesticks, I do believe, just candlesticks in a den.
And she received a morsel of grain, and I saw this, and the angels saw this, and the same voice said, “I have given you according to your works.”
And someone said, “But he is God, he does not do such thing!”
And she hid in a stone, her name carved in its center, (she was told, she would be safe there) and God came, with a rod of iron, and broke the stone, like pottery, broken to shivers, and yet, she would not repent, she couldn’t, it was not her stead, and someone said, “But he is God, he would not do such things!”
And she heard a voice, it said, “Are you ready to die?”
It was an angel, perfect before God. And he added,
“You have received, and heard, and you do not holdfast he’s words, and repent, you have not!”
Then she tried to run, and the angel let her, and he said, “I will send the angel of death, he will come on you as a thief, and you will not know the hour, or day, but it will be soon.”
And when that day came, her name was blotted out of the book of life. And the door of shoal, (hell) was opened, and the angel of death, knew she was not hot or cold, she was lukewarm, and he spit her out of his mouth, and she fell into the abyss, sank into the land of Shoal, as she fell, and fell, and fell. She knew not that she was wretched, miserable, or naked, yet, tried in fire she was, and found wanting, and now she is the slave to Satan, all because of the removal of the candlestick, from a God, from a den, and someone said, “But he is a kind God, he would not do such a thing!” But he did.
After this I looked and saw, the door to hell, the abyss, was closed, and a voice said to me, “Come here, I will teach you things for the hereafter,” and I followed, and I stumbled, and I got back up, and I stumbled. And the candlestick was dim, and bright, and dim, and once unlit, (but never removed) and at times beasts surrounded it, trying to keep me from it, beasts full of eyes, and I prayed, and the beasts with wings and eyes let me in. And I learned, you must be worthy to receive glory and honor, things only given by the King.
